Since the establishment of the Enginng Research Institute in 2014, we have cooperated with dozens of universities and research institutes, including Harbin Institute of Technology, Tongji University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai University, Donghua University, Southeast University, Zhejiang University, Dalian University of Technology, China Academy of Building Research, Shanghai Research Institute of Building Sciences, and others, in industry-university-research collaborations, and have achieved fruitful results. A the 86 members of ouD team, 64% have a doctoral degree (with more than half having overseas exchange experience), and 28% have registered professional qualifications, including one winner of the Shanghai May Day Labor Medal, four members of the Shanghai Yangfan Plan, one member of the Pujiang Talent Plan, and several advanced workers and young skilled workers. We have led one key research and development project and two sub-projects under the national "14th Five-Year Plan", and undertaken seven key research and development projects under the national "13th Five-Year Plan", the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, and the Shanghai Municipal Government. We have helped companies win 13 national scientific and technological progress awards, including 5 first prizes, and 23 provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological progress awards in the past five years. We have won all the awards in the field of BIM at home and abroad, with a total of 132 invention patents and 14 provincial and ministerial-level construction methods, published 26 SCI papers, 32 EI papers, and 14 monographs, and participated in the development of 22 national and local standards. We have provided full-process technical services for more than 300 major projects undertaken by our subsidiary units and trained and delivered 40 types of technical experts.

The Enginng Research Institute of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division will continue to be guided by industry development trends and enterprise strategic development goals, lead industry development with forward-looking R&D, and promote enterprise transformation with disruptive breakthroughs, and strive unremittingly to "become a world-class investment and construction group".

1. Institute of Green and Low-Carbon Technology

The institute was originated from Green Construction Laboratory of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division’s Technology Center, inheriting the concept of green development advocated and practiced by the director of Technology Center and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Xiao Xuwen; In response to the national Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Goals, the institute takes green and low-carbon technology development as its mission, guided by the "four-carbon integrated" low-carbon construction theoretical system of negative- carbon planning, zero-carbon design, low-carbon construction and carbon-reduced operation, and supports the green and low-carbon development strategy of corporate.

2. Institute of Engineering Materials

Established in December 2021, the institute focuses on major fields such as inorganic non-metallic science, metallic materials, polymer materials, and inspection and testing. The team has rich technical accumulation and theoretical achievements in UHPC, additives, functional concrete, roadbed and pavement materials, and has long-term management experience and design practice in the construction of testing instruments, laboratories, and yard plant.

3. Institute of BIM Technology

The Institute of BIM Technology is the leading department of the company in the fields of BIM assessment management, scientific and technological research and development, talent cultivation, technical services, and achievement transformation. It has created eight tional components of the C8 BIM collaborative management platform, including rapid modeling, engineering quantity calculation, construction process library, family library, virtual model, automatic pipe coordination, and steel bar adaptive cutting.

4. Institute of Intelligent Construction

The main business of the Institute of Intelligent Construction includes research on large-scale intelligent enginng equipment, intelligent algorithms, construction technology for complex structures, as well as technical support for bidding on key engineering projects and for solving major technical problems on construction sites.

5. Institute of Industrialized Building

The Institute of Industrialized Building - which is the fornt of our company\s research on new industrialized building structures, product systems, intelligent equipment, and construction technology - also serves as a strong rear for our company\s marketing and on-site projects. It first proposed the concept of "IREPC" (investment, research and development, design, production, and construction) and the integrated construction of the entire industrial chainprefabricated buildings. It has developed five major prefabricated structural systems, and the results have been demonstrated and applied in engineering.

6. Institute of Infrastructure

In 2019, the Institute of Highway Enginng was established and in 2021 it was reorganized as the Institute of Infrastructure. Combining with the development strategy of the infrastructure sector of the Eighth Engineering Bureau, the institute proactively optimized job allocation and added research and development positions in areas such as water conservancy, rail transit, intelligent transportatistation facilities, railways, and offshore engineering.

7. Institute of Building Structures and Disaster Prevention

The Institute of Building Structures and Disaster Prevention is one of the first research institutes established by the Enginng Research Institute. Its research focuses on high-performance materials, new structural systems, new construction equipment, disaster prevention and mitigation technology, super high-rise and large-span space structures. Currently, the institute has six major advantageous technologies, including building 3D printing technology, 600MPa high-strength steel bars, carbon fiber composite materials, seismic isolation and reduction technology, and resilient cities, intelligent construction robots, and internationalization of engineering standards.

8. Institute of Underground Large Space

Underground Large Space mainly includes: project bidding, design calculation, design scheme consultation, construction scheme optimization, construction process finite element analysis, accident analysis and handling of excavation engineering, pipe rack engineering, shield engineering, slope engineering, and foundation engineering, ect. In recent three years, it has provided support for more than 300 times for projects such as Egypt CBD Landmark Tower, Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport, Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center, Ningbo International Conference Center, and Fuzhou CBD Underground Space.
