JOB DESCRIPTION

The Fintech Strategy and Investments Team partners with Business Leaders across the organization to define forward-looking digital strategies that solve business & client needs or create new opportunities. Our focus areas include innovations in Capital Markets, DLT & Web3, Business Automation, Digital Client Experience, Emerging Tech and other key areas. We manage strategic partnerships and investments in companies that will advance J.P. Morgan\s digital agenda.

The team are experts on how to leverage emerging technologies and external Fintech organizations to drive revenue, generate efficiency, and create new business opportunities for CIB. Our work throughout the bank and with our partners ensures J.P. Morgan remains a global leader in the financial technology space.

Job Responsibilities:

- Support the global team to research and analyze the FinTech industry landscape

- Scout and profile new FinTech companies, conducting deep-dive due diligence and competitive benchmarking on potential strategic partnership and investment opportunities

- Develop relationships with Corporate and Investment Banking partners and internal functional partners (Technology, Product, Legal, Compliance, User Experience) on existing pain points/business opportunities with a view to developing new solutions, services, products, and distribution channels

- Create FinTech strategy and investment proposal pitch materials

- Present investment opportunities and product ideas to team and Digital Innovation management and engage and network with the broader FinTech ecosystem

- Monitor and track Key Performance Indicators for portfolio companies to inform ongoing investment decisions

- Participate in and contribute to periodic departmental meetings and assist with department-wide strategic initiatives

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree with minimum 3 years of proven experience in Investment Banking, Markets (sales/trading, research), Private Equity / Venture Capital , FinTechs, Management Consulting, or Strategy equivalent

- Experience working in cross-functional teams with a global outlook

- Passion for digital business transformation and how tech innovation shapes the digital economy

- Excellent PowerPoint skills, ability to create impactful presentations using compelling data, analysis, rigorous research, and adapts content for different audiences

- Detail-oriented, with strong time management and prioritization skills and a bias to action

- Open, collaborative, team-oriented operating style, works well with cross-functional teams

- Effective in dealing in a field that’s new, loosely defined and rapidly changing

- Ability to learn quickly, seeks to understand what we do, how we do it, and why we do it

- Self-starter, who isn’t afraid to escalate early, or ask for help when it is needed

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

- Familiarity with researching companies and use of relevant research tools

- Experience in DLT, Web3, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation and Emerging Tech

- Strong Excel skills, ideally with financial modelling and data analysis experience

- Experience working in Private Equity or Venture Capital, FinTech, Management Consulting or Strategy
